Sara Sidle was boen in Tamales Bay, just outside San Francisco. Her parents were ex-hippies who ran
a bed and breakfast. Her father however was very abusive and in 1984 her mother Laura killed him. Sara spent the remainder
of her childhood in foster care. She eventually received a scholarship to harvard and was originally intending to take a career
in theoretical physics. She soon realised however that forensics was her real skill. She spent five years in the San Francisco
Coroner's Office and a year in the Crime Lab before Grissom called her to Las Vegas.
